TFD Insurance ("TFD Insurance," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your information when you visit our website at tfdinsurance.com, request an auto insurance quote, communicate with us by phone, email, or text message, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the "Services").
TFD Insurance is a free comparison platform that connects consumers with third-party insurance carriers and licensed agents. We are not an insurance company and we do not underwrite, issue, or sell insurance policies directly. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any portion of this policy, please do not use the Services.
We collect information that you voluntarily provide, information generated automatically when you use the Services, and information we receive from third parties.
When you request a quote, contact us, or sign up for communications, we may collect identifying details such as your full name, mailing address, ZIP code, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, and marital status.
To produce an auto insurance quote, we may collect details about the vehicle (year, make, model, VIN, primary use, annual mileage), the listed drivers (license status, driving history, prior accidents, prior claims), and your current insurance situation (carrier, coverage limits, policy expiration date).
When you visit the website we automatically collect certain technical information, including IP address, approximate geographic location, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, referring URL, pages viewed, time spent on each page, and the path you take through the site. This information is collected through cookies, pixels, server logs, and similar technologies.
We may receive information about you from third parties such as marketing partners that referred you to us, public records (for example, motor vehicle reports where permitted), consumer reporting agencies, and analytics providers. We use this information to verify the details you provide and to help our carrier partners produce accurate quotes.
We use the information described above to operate, improve, and personalize the Services. Specifically, we use your information to:
This section explains how text messaging works with TFD Insurance. Please read it carefully because by submitting your phone number through our website or by giving verbal consent to a TFD Insurance representative you are consenting to the practices described below.
Express consent. When you provide your mobile phone number on a TFD Insurance form (including the home-page quote form) or to one of our licensed agents, you are giving express written consent for TFD Insurance and its insurance partner network to contact you at that number using an automatic telephone dialing system, an artificial or prerecorded voice, or text messages, even if the number is on a federal, state, or internal Do Not Call list. This consent applies regardless of whether you ultimately purchase an insurance policy.
Types of messages you may receive. Messages may be informational, transactional, or promotional in nature. Examples include quote confirmations, follow-up reminders to complete your quote, carrier match notifications, scheduled call reminders, customer-service responses, satisfaction surveys, special savings offers, and policy-renewal reminders.
Message frequency. Message frequency varies based on your interaction with the Services and the carriers you choose to engage with. You may receive recurring messages.
Carrier charges. Message and data rates may apply depending on your wireless plan. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. TFD Insurance does not charge a separate fee for sending messages, but your wireless provider's standard rates will apply to messages you send and receive.
How to opt out. You can opt out of TFD Insurance text messages at any time. Reply STOP to any text message you receive from us and we will unsubscribe you from further marketing text messages from TFD Insurance. After you send STOP, you will receive a one-time confirmation message and no further text messages will be sent unless you opt back in. To opt out of messages from a specific insurance carrier or partner, you may need to reply STOP separately to those messages, as those carriers operate their own messaging programs.
How to get help. Reply HELP to any TFD Insurance text message for additional information, or contact us at [email protected] or (888) 555-0142.
Consent is not a condition of purchase. You are not required to consent to receive autodialed calls or text messages as a condition of purchasing any goods or services from TFD Insurance or its partners. You may instead contact us by phone or email and ask a licensed agent to assist you without the use of automated calls or text messages.
Partner network. Your consent extends to TFD Insurance and to the network of insurance carriers, brokers, and licensed agents that partner with TFD Insurance to provide quotes. A complete list of current partners is available upon request to [email protected].
Carrier-specific note. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. SMS service is supported by all major U.S. wireless carriers, including AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, and others.
We share your information only as necessary to deliver the Services and only with the categories of recipients described below.
Our core service involves sharing your quote information with insurance carriers, brokers, and licensed agents in our partner network so they can prepare a quote and contact you about coverage options. Each partner is independently responsible for handling your information in accordance with its own privacy practices.
We engage trusted vendors to perform services on our behalf, including hosting, analytics, customer-relationship management, telecommunications, and email delivery. These vendors are contractually limited to using your information solely for the purposes for which we hire them.
We may disclose information when required to do so by law, court order, subpoena, or other legal process, or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of TFD Insurance, our users, or the public.
If TFD Insurance is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, sale of assets, or similar transaction, your information may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to the protections described in this Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your personal information to data brokers, list brokers, or unrelated third-party advertisers. Sharing within our insurance partner network is limited to the carriers and agents that produce quotes for you.
We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, web beacons, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the Services and to understand how visitors use them.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. We honor "Do Not Track" signals where required by law. Some third parties may continue to collect information about your online activities across different websites; we encourage you to review the privacy practices of those third parties directly.
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information.
California residents may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about them, the categories of sources, the business purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom we have shared the information. California residents may also request that we delete personal information we have collected, subject to certain exceptions.
TFD Insurance does not sell personal information for monetary value. Sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, where it occurs, can be opted out of by emailing [email protected] with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information."
To exercise any privacy right, contact us at [email protected] or (888) 555-0142. We will verify your identity before responding and will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. Quote forms are protected by 256-bit TLS encryption in transit, sensitive data is encrypted at rest, and internal access is limited to employees and contractors who need it to perform their duties. While we work hard to keep your information secure, no system is completely impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Services are intended for adults age 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us at [email protected] and we will promptly delete the information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the Services. Material changes will become effective when posted unless otherwise indicated. Your continued use of the Services after a change indicates that you accept the revised policy.
